Boy or Girl?

Ever since we decided to find out the gender of the baby, we can't stop thinking and wondering about what we are going to have! Pink or Blue? What do you think? Vote to the right here and let us know what you think! :)

Week 15

No major bump changes this week, I think it will be awhile. I feel slightly torn, part of me is ready for the unmistakable bump, while the other part of me is thrilled that I pretty much look the same and can wear my regular clothes as long as possible. As Drew said this morning "you have plenty of time to get big!"

Yesterday at our doctors appointment I asked the doctor about weight gain and pregnancy....basically, do I need to do anything to gain weight during pregnancy, or does it just happen on its own. Her expression after I asked the question immediately gave me my will happen on its own, just you wait and see. I did win the bet, my clothes still fit with no adjustments necessary, we will see what it is like in 4 weeks at our next appointment!

Everything went great at the doctor. As I mentioned last week, Drew and have been debating whether we would find out the sex of the baby...debate isn't really the right word...he has wanted to know, and I have not. It has been a battle of the wills. Yesterday the doctor said that at our next appointment we would also have a sonogram at which point they would be able to determine the sex of the baby. I was shocked that when she said that this overpowering feeling came over me and now I just have to know. I can't believe that in less than 4 weeks, June 12, we will know if we are going to have a boy or a girl. I can't wait! :) Hopefully Baby Keller cooperates during the sonogram and isn't very shy! So, of course, I went out and bought a baby name book right after the appointment! Drew and I agreed though, that if we found out the sex of the baby we will not share our ideas or final decision on the baby name with anyone until the baby is members that includes you too!

Week 14

Today seems like the perfect day to show our first "Bump Watch" picture...Mother's Day! At the risk of sounding cheesy, I must admit that this year, as I embark on motherhood, Mother's Day does hold a new meaning for me. I feel so fortunate and blessed that I have such a wonderful mother and I appreciate her more now than ever before! She has taught and nurtured me so much and our baby will be so fortunate to have her as a grandmother! The same is true for Drew's mom, I couldn't ask for a better mother in law and this baby is going to be so lucky and likely very spoiled by his/her grandmommies! Drew has also been very sweet today to this mommy to be!

So, although it may not be all that visible to those viewing this picture, there is definitely a "bump" that has begun. Suddenly this small bump appeared this week, making my work clothes fit just a bit differently than I remember. Initially, I swore it was just the dry cleaners that possibly shrunk my clothes, but it appears that I am indeed developing the beginning of a bump. By the way, I was not down with the lifting of the shirt picture, but Drew insisted! Don't count on that continuing much longer!

This week we had another ultrasound It was incredible how much Baby Keller has grown since we had our last ultrasound three weeks ago. Baby Keller wasn't exactly cooperating during the ultrasound and the doctor needed a different view of the baby for the measurements she was attempting to take, so she kept pushing on my abdomen to get Baby Keller to adjust position. I couldn't believe how active Baby Keller really is and I don't even know it! Baby Keller was kicking and punching away! It is always such a comfort to see the baby and hear the heartbeat! We are still undecided on if we will find out the sex of the baby. All along I have had the hunch it is a girl while Drew has thought it was a boy, but after our last ultrasound I think it is a boy! Our next OB appointment is this coming Friday the 15th. At our last OB visit on April 17th our doctor bet me that I wouldn't fit into my suit pants by the next visit and I am determined to prove her matter how difficult buttoning those pants might be!

Baby Keller To Be...

It is finally official! We are having a baby! We found out on February 27th that we were expecting! I anticipated that time would crawl by, especially during the first trimester, but to my surprise the first 14 weeks have flown by! We are so excited to embark on the journey of pregnancy and parenthood! I use the term "we" somewhat loosely as Drew has informed me that although "we" are very excited, "we" are both certainly not pregnant!

I am slightly hesitant to try this whole "blogging" adventure, but also believe it will be a fun way for family and friends to keep up with us during the pregnancy and after Baby Keller arrives! We will do our best to update the blog weekly with pictures and interesting tid bits. I am sure there will be many funny stories as we already realize daily that we have no clue what we have really gotten ourselves in to!

So, for now, the bump watch begins!
